Here are the top three myths related to hybrid and flex fuel vehicles.

1. Hybrid Cars Are Expensive - The average cost to make a hybrid vehicle is about $3,000 more than that of a conventional vehicle, however, state and federal tax incentives offset these cost’s bringing the prices down. As hybrid car technology is around longer, more efficient ways to produce them will be availible, thus making them cheaper in the long run.
2. Hybrid Cars Are Underpowered - Serveral hybrid car makers have realized this concern and have produced hybrid’s with exceptional performance in mind. Toyota Highlander Hybrid and the Honda Accord Hybrid each have around 270 horsepower. The Lexus GS 450 Hybrid has a wopping 300 horspower and does 0 to 60 just under 6 seconds. Then there is the Telsla Motors Hybrid Roadster that does 0 to 60 in 4 seconds and has 100% torque 100% of the time.
3. Hybrid Batteries Need To Be Replaced - There are many concerns about the replacement of expensive hybrid batteries. The fact is don’t worry most hybrid vehicle makers have warranties of 80,000 mile to 100,000 miles. There is one documented case of a taxi driver getting 200,000 miles on a hybrid and the batteries are still strong.
