– Oil Executives Against Ethanol Subsidies - Imagine That!
Corporate Oil Companies against ethanol subsidies?
Wonder why?
With the subsidies in place it makes the cost of ethanol more economical, thus allowing us to be able to afford to drive a vehicle.
The big E**on - Made a record $36.1 billion in profit last year from the ever rising oil prices and says that our government should end all ethanol subsidies because it may distort the market values.
Let me tell you something - You have distorted the market values with your corporate greed!
Exxon Chief Executive Rex Tillerson rejected President Bush’s call of help for increased government aid for ethanol production.
The American Coalition for Ethanol, located in Sioux Falls, S.D. responded with this answer:…..
“In the face of pornographic profits being made by oil companies and the reality of higher gas prices this year, it is outrageous for an executive for big oil to actually suggest getting rid of the tax credit for ethanol,” ( Brian Jennings, executive vice president).
Well put Mr. Jennings!!!
The estimated U.S. ethanol industry contributed about $32 billion to the economy last year. That included about $6 billion in farm income and $5 billion in household income; the industry generated almost $3.6 billion in taxes - Nice contributing factor - and didn’t rape the american public at the pump either.
“Some companies are reluctant to give up any market share because it is a threat to the oil industry monopoly,” said Rick Tolman, CEO of the National Corn Growers Association in St. Louis MO. “Let consumers choose, and they will pick ethanol for its environmental benefits and reduction in foreign oil dependence.”
Well “Big Oil Companies” let’s take away your subsidies - Yes “Big Oil” you get subsidies too! - Where would your record profits be then???
We really can change all of this stupidity! - Let your leaders know that you support alternative fuel - Again, one person cannot make much of a difference but…… there is strength in numbers!
