~~ Michigan Attracts New Biodiesel Plant - ABOUT TIME!!!
Governor Announces State Approval of First Renewable Energy Renaissance Zone
New $10 Million Biodiesel Plant Targeted for Adrian Michigan
Governor Jennifer M. Granholm announced state approval of Michigan’s first Renewable Energy Renaissance Zone, a 25-acre site in the city of Adrian Michigan. The Renaissance Zone designation allows a company operating within the zone to operate free of virtually all state and local taxes. The zone is being established to attract a new, $10 million biodiesel fuel production plant that is expected to create 20 new jobs in the community.
Michigan’s Renaissance Zone program is administered by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation
“Bringing this biodiesel plant to Adrian will help attract investment and jobs to this community,” Granholm said. “We are continuing our efforts to diversify Michigan’s economy by being a leader in renewable energy technology and production,” Granholm said.

Maybe instead of concentrating on auto manufacturing, Michigan leaders will finally take notice and keep finding new “High Tech” companies to come to Michigan.
Is it too late? Maybe! Michigan needs revenue — Giving these kinds of tax breaks are great for the company but…
Where were Michigan’s leaders four years ago?
