Last month the gas - electric Toyota Prius recorded its best monthly sales in Australia since its release six years ago.

And year-to-date figures show sales have almost doubled compared with the same period last year.

Toyota Prius’ competition, the Honda Civic Hybrid, at the average cost of $32,990, the cheapest gas - electric car in Australia, has a two-month waiting list.

These crazy gasoline prices are are driving Hybrid sales all over the world - For Toyota that is. Some of the other Hybrid manufacturers are not experiencing as much success!
